AusFarm paper in Environmental Modelling and Software
We have just published a paper in Environmental Modelling and Software that describes the AusFarm modelling tool, with a particular focus on its use for simulating integrated crop-livestock systems.
Some key points:
- The wide range of research applications for AusFarm
- Composition, hierarchical structure, and explicit representation of human activities are necessary for complex agroecosystem simulations
- The importance of direct software support for the build-test-analyse-interpret cycle
- Conceptual decompositions of “mixed farming system management” and of “livestock management” within it
